We invite you to enjoy your stay in our Dutch colonial style home. The Lilac Village Bed and Breakfast was built in 1936 by long time prominent Siren business leader J.B. Hanson. Opening as a Bed & Breakfast in 1997, the house retains the charm of the era in which it was built while offering conveniences. Sit by the fire and enjoy a good book, watch the birds at the feeders from the sunroom, linger around the dining room table after breakfast visiting with other guests or soak in a relaxing whirlpool tub. However, if you choose to spend your day at the Lilac Village Bed and Breakfast you will have had you chance to unwind and renew your spirits. |

In 1895 the Postal Department asked Charles P.Segerstrom to provide a name for the post office located in his home. He chose 'Syren" the Swedish word for the beautiful flowering shrubs growing in his yard. We know them as lilac. The Postal Department changed the spelling of "Syren" to "Siren'. In late May when the lilacs are in bloom, it is evident the name still fits the area with its abundance of fragrant blooming shrubs.
